Pictures are worth a thousand words, but you want to make sure that image is delivering the message you want. Social media is the best way to portray your golf course's beauty and have immediate access whenever you need to add content. It is important to note that it is OKAY to edit photographs. Enhancing features and clearing out impurities makes your image stand out and stand apart from the rest. Smartphones have made photo editing easier with a few simple to navigate apps for both Android and iPhone users.

With the wide variety of image editors available, there are a handful that have proven their its effectiveness with both Android and IOS smartphones. After using what seems to be hundreds of editing apps, I have narrowed down my favorite. The 5 apps that I hold true are PicsArt, Snapseed, Afterlight, Adobe Lightroom Mobil and Afterfocus. You may have used these in the past or heard of them, but each provide specialized filters, adjustments, and clarity options based upon your desired result.

  1. PicsArt
  2. If you are looking to change the game of photo editing, this is the app for you. PicsArt allows you to choose from an unlimited amount of filter effects ranging from high definition, pop art, corrections, and more! There are over 15 photo editing options, so virtually the sky is the limit. One of the most unique features of PicsArt is you can follow other people who have created amazing photographs with this editor. This way you can see firsthand what combinations look the best and ask for tips and tricks to get your course gallery started.

  3. Snapseed
  4. This Google made app upholds the name of a professional photo editor. Snapseed offers an array of tools to sharpen the appearance of your photographs to enhance the crisp greens of your golf course. Here you can access high quality editing features that are offered through most digital photography applications on a desktop. Snapseed allows users to be the master behind the work by creating many manual adjustments. As a thriving app, new additional features are constantly being added to alter to the needs of all photographers.

  5. Afterlight
  6. Afterlight is a very popular app with both Android and IOS users. Its well-known rainbow logo has gained recognition, because of it’s convenient send and share options. With one click, all your social media accounts will fill with your new edited course photos. Afterlight has created over 70 different filters, 100+ frames (fit for Instagram), 15 adjustment tools and 78 textures. This quick and easy app is a great way to simply edit your photos and it is all for FREE!

  7. Adobe Lightroom Mobile
  8. If anyone is a fan of the desktop version of Adobe Lightroom, you will enjoy this app. On this mobile form of Adobe, you can create amazing photographs in one-step or take the advanced approach. Features such as toning, exposure, white balance, clarity and contrast are available to all users, with the option for paid upgrades. The stunning photographs you can create through Adobe Lightroom Mobile are endless, and easily shared through your favorite social media sites.

  9. Afterfocus
  10. Afterfocus has been rated one of the best apps for photography. Through your smartphone, you can make your edited images appear to be shot with a DSLR camera. This high-quality app is great for large scale pictures such as your greens, clubhouse, or any attractive land areas. This is due to the “focus” effect that blurs the background and enhances the selected area, giving you a realistic look of professional camera. You can download this app for any smartphone for the price of $0.99.

It's time to start sharing more interesting photos from your golf course. Make it quick and easy with these 5 apps!
